Anzaldúa's Border Crossings in contact with Indigenous Feminist Bridges

The paper I propose is an examination of the way that Anzaldúa questions and attempts to deconstruct the inherent barriers and walls within the academy, epistemology, and society, and dismantle the structural impediments that shape knowledge production, dissemination, and inquiry. By the same token, Indigenous feminist alternative knowledge producers, often associated with the notions of building, nurturing, and sustaining bridges, have been engaged in a profound struggle to demystify, theorize, legitimize, and more centrally-position their epistemological framework and construction of identity. The paper will draw parallels between Anzaldúa and contemporary Indigenous voices.
